Second ALN event - February 10 2006

The second event in the Engaging Government programme was held on
Friday February 10 2006. During most of the session we played through a prototype version of the Engagement Game. There’s a full report here

Event details

Friday February 10 2006 10am – 1pm, Office of the Deputy Prime Minister
Rooms 7a, 7b, 7c 123 Ashdown House, Victoria Street, London SW1E 6DE

The event is open to any civil servant newly interested in the programme, as well as those already involved. Please email David Wilcox to confirm if you are coming.
We will be:

  • Updating on the programme, and taking feedback from progress so far
  • Prototyping a workshop game that can be used to plan engagement processes
  • Addressing some of the ‘burning issues’ about engagement raised by that exercise, and past discussion
  • Planning further network development

Overall the idea is to share knowledge, support each other, swap ideas and provide a safe environment in which to talk through problems, ideas and possible solutions. More here on past work.

We think that the game will be a lot of fun, as well as a seriously useful learning tool. On February 10th we’ll be inviting members of the network to help us develop the game by drawing on their experience of engagement - or just letting us know how useful they find this approach if they are new to the field. More here on the game.
